JK7 Josh Kalis Signature ShoeLooking a little retro and hella street, the seventh edition of the JK7, Josh Kalis’ signature shoe from DC has got it all, durable construction and smooth styles and comfort, what more can you ask for from a skate shoe?

Without being a little bias (cos’ yeh, I got me a pair too) these shoes really are sick. The Dynamic Grip Technology takes board control to the next level. With different dynamics for each part of the sole, DGT gives the best grip with maximum flexibility. The heel cushions hard landings with DGT Hard 62, the ball and toe of the foot is firm yet flexible using DGT Soft 55. The performance wrap cup sole is DC’s answer for the outsole, which is made from DGT+, again this is flexible but firm, yet soft enough to stick to the grip tape for complete control over ollies and flip tricks.

The shoes style also come with durability as the upper shoe is predominantly made from Super Suede. Super Suede is much tougher than regular suede and will last much longer against the rough grain of the boards grip tape. The Super Suede comes in some live colors including ‘hounds tooth print’ in expresso, white and armour or a simple black and white for those looking for a plain approach to their sneakers.

Over the years beat boxing, and hip-hop in general, has taken so many twists and turns. Fusing, sampling, and evolving. Yesterday on YouTube I stumbled upon Yuri Lane who has been picking up a lot of attention with his video.

Yuri Lane is a beat boxer out from San Fran. In this video you can catch him combining two of his talents by beatboxing through a harmonica. I think he even sampled some sounds from Mario Bros. some how.

This guy has even made it on the silver screen in the movie Compulsory Breathing, where he plays the obvious role as a beatboxer. You can see him in The Principal, Farmer & Chase and Playing Mona Lisa as well.

I stumbled across this website with pics from the Full Moon Party out in Koh Phangan. The groups name is PlayPoi and they know how to throw some fire around! Just check out the image right below! Looks like this guy was able tor reach Nirvana and create a swirl of fire around him during deep meditation. They got a ton of pics and videos on their website for anyone interested in the Full Moon Party and figuring out what goes down there. You can even learn how to do Poi. I am working on making a Flash Video for the website that shows some dope party’s put on by our friends down south. Trix and Hecto are pretty good at this and we should get our own pics up the next time we take a trip down south.

Also I was on the net and found another website that seemed to fit well in today’s post on dancing. Check out this Naicha girl breaking out her moves that seems like she has been possessed by the holy ghost. You can see similar dancing styles like this on Koh Phangan as well. I think she has had way too many Shabuya Shrooms and recently Trix has been mimicking similar body movements.

Welcome to the year 2550 – the year of the Golden Pig (or Ding Hai in Chinese). In addition, the pig is a representation of money and good fortune. This is the second coming of the pig, along with anyone else born in the year 1983 on the Gregorian Calender, so this should be our year where we are the strongest. Other people who celebrate the year of the pig are Hillary Clinton, the Dalai Lama and Borat. They’re said to be honest, patient and straightforward individuals.

Welcome to 2550 Chinese New Year in Bangkok Thailand

Each year is also designated by one of the 12 Animals. For instance, 2005 is Year of Rooster; 2006 is Year of Dog; and 2007 is the Year of Pig. This system is extremely practical. A child does not have to learn a new answer to the question, “How old are you?” in each new year. Old people often lose track of their age, because they are rarely asked about their present age. Every one just has to remember that he or she was born in the “Year of the Dog” or whatever. Since this is the Year of the Pig, any one who was born in the Year of the Pig is now either 0 or 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84 or 96 years old.

Chinese New Year is held on the second New Moon after the winter solstice. It is based strictly on astronomical observations, and has nothing to do with the Pope, emperors, animals or myths. Due to its scientific and mathematical nature, you can easily and precisely calculate backward or forward to any year.

Here in Bangkok, on Chinese New Year we started out in the temples rubbing the Golden Buddah with our wallets for good fortune and then made our way out into the hoards of people. A broad assortments of Asian dishes, incense and clouds of smoke, spray of holy water from monks, and glittering temples.
