The underground sound and music that has been creeping down Patpong is looking to be another great line up this month. Located at Breaks Bar which is actually a tucked away club hidden down Soi 2/1 on the second floor. Decked out with Japanese flavor and packed with bumpin speakers. Here’s the info

Email Marketing Newsletter ScamOn behalf of our partner 800HighTech, we would like to apologize to all of their customers who received their Email newsletter and were dissatisfied. We received many complaints and questions regarding it – and I was not what it was suppose to be. It was our first attempt at communicated with their customers via Email and 800HighTech wanted to do it professionally. They searched and we were referred to Jerry Hart – who from his website seemed like he was going to help achieve our goal and more, but he wasn’t. It was a shame it turned out the way it was – Okizoo was able to help them recover and helped establish their new Email newsletter program.

Art in Transit Custom Clothing Design in LondonYou may have noticed some bright shirts featured in the pictures from the Walk on Flames Music Video. We featured our partner A.IN.T London (Art in Transit) which is a new UK based label and creative collective established in early 2006 and spearheaded by Charlie Crockett and Max Fowler.

Created initially as a reaction to what they felt was a lack of clothing in the market that represented them or their interests, they took what to them was the natural step of making their own, at first strictly just for friends and family.

“We didn’t want to be defined by or pigeonholed by what someone else thought was a fresh graphic or piece of clothing that tied you down to just one subculture; so many brands out there had no relevance to what we’re about or what we find interesting. Making our own clothes just seemed like a natural solution; the first pieces we did were done purely for the love and for our friends; we made them in a garden shed just round the corner from my house.” – Charlie Crokett

They’ve moved on a lot since then but all of their clothing is still 100% hand printed in London and they still retain the same hands on approach (see pics).

Keen to not create anything that would be thought of as stereotypically ‘street’, their first official releases use Horror Comics of the 1950′s as their inspiration, flipped from their original colour palette into retina searing pinks and neon blues. The first series is called Disrepectfully Yours, something that Charlie and Max feels encapsulates the A.IN.T mindset and mentality perfectly.

“Max found the phrase Disrepectfully Yours in one of these Horror comics from his huge archive and we both agreed it just fit the bill perfectly as a name for the first collection. We’re deliberately not aligning ourselves to any one scene / type of music / clothing or whatever. If you get it and you like what we do, you’re down with A.IN.T. No one’s excluded just because they don’t fit any one stereotype; we don’t so theres no reason for them to either.”

The first official releases from A.IN.T, the Hugg Life and Very Cleaver tees are available from the DPMHI store in Soho now, with more to follow…………..

    Espalanade Shopping Mall; Bangkok, Thailand

This structure of organic contours and ample space was designed by the same Paris-based architects who conceived Bangkok’s famous Emporium and Siam Paragon. Within is a music academy, a 12-theatre Cineplex, and ice skating rink (the latter to be launched sometime in 2007). This new addition to the mall scene operates 100 000 square meters of retail space, and introduces the intriguing concept of ‘artetainment’. In addition, it features one of the most modern auditoriums in the city, and the Cineplex movie theatres have devised a nifty way to save paper; the ‘now showing’ screens are electronic instead of the traditional posters. Aside from all the usual eateries, cafes and fashionable lifestyle stores, there are also several health and wellness outlets, from post-natal slimming and shaping, to fitness, hair and nails. Project Zen Bodyworks has a spa menu to delight, and Chaho Matcha Teashop stocks Japanese green tea. And for some action, Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl combines karaoke and bowling for good clean fun.

    Open: 10:00 – 22:00
