The A Sign was a symbol they kept outside of establishments in Japan that accepted American customers. With the occupation of Japan, by American Solders; the locals wanted things to stay the same and go the bars they have always known with the same faces. Some Okinawas saw opportunity with the new source of customers, and started long lasting relationships and strengthened international relations on a local level.
